"Magnetic Attraction," An Exhibit of Found Object Art @ Bean Traders - Local 18 year old sculpter Laura Madejczyk puts together projects utilizing creative re-use.

EXPLORE! Rhythm - Everyone can play @ CCB Plaza - Performances by regional symphony RTOOT (the Really Terrible Orchestra Of the Triangle), and by the Scene of the Crime Rovers, Durham's own community street band. Will include hands-on activities such as a drum circle, and musical instrument construction utilizing recycled materials.

Friends and Family Show @ Scrap Exchange - A call for artists! Bring your own work to hang at the Green Gallery.

Reception for Trey Moore Exhibit / Open Studios @ Bull City Arts Collaborative - Wilmington, NC artist Trey Moore presents his exhibit "Hands & Faces: Paintings & Collage."

Janet Stolp and a Slice of Durham @ Brightleaf - Singer/songwriter Janet Stolp leads her group, performing a blend of folk and jazz.

Art Hanging @ Kung Fu Tattoo - Features the work of Tarah Singh and Owen Beckmann. Tarah's work visualizes a feminine experience and her South American culture. Owen's contemporary work is a representation of the hip-hop generation.

Live Music & Art Exhibit @ Broad Street Cafe - Bluegrass band Red Creek Cider at 8pm, Big Daddy Love at 10pm. Artist Bonnie Marie is presenting her paintings, dedicated to her Grandmother Joan, who passed away may 9th after a long battle with Alzheimers.

Nicotine Cinema @ Durham Central Park - An outdoor film show at the park, presented by Durham Cinematheque. Short films include "Princess Nicotine" (J. Stuart Blackton, 1909), "Who Do You Think You Are" (Mary Filippo, 1987), "Cigarette Blues" (Les Blank, 1986) and television commercials for cigars and cigarettes, banned from the airwaves since 1971.

Live Music @ Papa Mojo's - Mighty Lester goes on at 9:30, heating up Papa Mojo's with R&B, blues and jive.

Chaz's Birthday Party @ Pinhook - Local legend Chaz Martenstein is celebrating his birthday at the Pinhook. Three bands will be peforming: The Dry Heathens at 10pm, Pretty Boy Thurson & the F'n A's at 11pm, and The Whatever Brains at midnight.

Women's Bike Repair Clinic @ Durham Bike Co-op - This is the latest installment of a Monthly clinic by and for women and women-identified folks on various aspects of bicycle repair.









Merge with Motion @ Carolina Theatre - To kick off Merge Records's 20th Anniversary Celebration, dancers from the Triangle Youth Ballet will perform contemporary ballet, rhythm tap and modern dance to the music of The Rosebuds, performers will dance to music from Arcade Fire, Caribou, Destroyer, the Magnetic Fields, Polvo, Richard Buckner, Spaceheads, Spoon and more.

Live Music @ Broad Street Cafe - 2nd Stage at 8pm, Not Dead Yet at 10pm.


Da Muthas @ Papa Mojo's - This rock-n-roll party/cover band takes the stage at 9:30pm.
