The Weekend Has Landed - July 10th

*Friday*

Durham Amtrak Station Dedication - The new Durham station that had a soft opening on Wednesday will hold the official dedication ceremony at 2pm. The station is in the beautifully renovated Walker Warehouse Building at 601 West Main Street in West Village.

sladesign Fashion Show V @ Golden Belt - Designer Marcela Slade is presenting a fashion show to display her latest collection of skirts, dresses, tops and tees. Wine and cheese will be provided by 3CUPS. Doors will open at 7pm and the show will commence at 7:30. It is free and open to the public.

Live Music @ Brightleaf - The Will McBride Group will be performing at 7pm as part of the 2009 summer concert series.

Live Music @ Broad St Cafe - Devon McClive at 8pm, The Crossover Blues Band at 10pm.

Live Music @ Papa Mojo's - The Adrian Duke Projek takes the stage at 9:30pm.

*Saturday*

Bombadil Listening Party and Art Showing Extravaganza @ Golden Belt - This is the marquee event of the weekend. Durham band Bombadil is releasing their second CD, Tarpits and Canyonlands. The Indy has had some recent coverage of Bombadil, providing an album review and an interview with one of the band members on his unfortunate ailment which has preventing them from touring. As Bombadil themselves are unable to perform, they have lined up some live acts in their stead:
Bombadil will also be presenting some limited edition album artwork for sale, along with lyrical booklets. The new album will be played in its entirety in front of the public for the first time. Admission is free, and the event is BYOB.

Live Music @ Broad St Cafe - Skeedaddle at 8pm, Please Welcome at 10pm.

Live Music @ Papa Mojo's - Cool John Ferguson takes the stage at 9:30pm.

Live Music @ Pinhook - Projexorcism at 10pm, Ponchos from Peru at 11pm, Invisible at midnight.

*Sunday*

Live Music @ BCHQ - From 9pm on, Gospel Years, Endless Mike & The Beagle Club and Snakes Are We All will be performing. The BCHQ is an alcohol-free all ages venue, which shares space with the Durham Bike Co-op.
