Hey Durham, Help a Friend Move

If you've had an eye toward local news, you know that a section of the historic landmark Liberty Warehouse's collapsed, and the building was condemned. That means all of the tenants need to pack up and move. One tenant, the beloved Scrap Exchange, was able to secure a temporary space across the street.

However, they have a LOT of stuff to move, and in a very small window of time. With that, they are putting out a call for volunteers to help move all of their warehouse inventory into their new temp space.

When:
Saturday, May 21 from 10:00-2:00
Sunday, May 22 from 11:00-3:00

What:
They will be cleaning out the space entirely, all contents will be packed up and moved, mostly Mongo room, backstock (bodega), and all the rest.

They will have:
1. Table of tools to be used to dismantle and use for the job
2. Snacks and refreshments (they will have stuff and if you bring stuff it is good too)
3. A ribbon making station for being so fabulous/community minded....you fill in the blank.

Please bring/be prepared:
1. They may have you sign a waiver, as it is an at risk situation, although it seems pretty safe.
2. If you are allergic to mold - you can still come, but they suggest you
volunteer across the street unloading.
3. Please dress appropriately - it's a warehouse, and they are moving lots of stuff. Gloves, tools, handtrucks, boxes (would be great) too, though they will also have some of that stuff.

*Liberty Warehouse Refugee Gathering*
As a part of Third Friday, there will also be a gathering outside of the Liberty Warehouse from 6-9pm of all of the artists and business owners that were displaced by the recent roof related tragedy. This would be a great opportunity to find out how you can help out all others that are looking for a new home.
