The Weekend Has Landed - September 24th.


NC Pride Weekend - A slew of events promoting and celebrating NC's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. Including a Day Festival, Parade, Night Festival, and other supporting events around town, here's the full schedule.

Escapism Film Festival - Carolina Theatre is hosting a showcase of fantasy and adventure movies from the late 70's and early 80's. Check out our feature.


North Elementary CD Release @ Motorco Music Hall - Tonight will be the first night of live music at Motorco, as they kick off their soft opening. The Chapel Hill based band North Elementary will be releasing their latest album, "Southern Rescue Trails." Also performing will be Schooner and The Tomahawks. Motorco is still working on their ABC permit, so Triangle Brewing Company will be their pouring beers. 9pm/$6.


Fall Plant & Craft Festival @ Duke Gardens -The Gardens and other vendors will sell an array of plants appropriate for our region, including plants featured in Duke Gardens. Local artisans will also be present, selling garden-related gift items. The Gardens staff and Durham County Master Gardeners will be on hand offering free horticultural advice. 9am-2pm.

Rocktoberfest @ Guglhupf - Guglhupf is celebrating Oktoberfest with a band straight from Germany - Die Nierentische. They will be performing rock hits from the 40's and 50's, in German. As the event runs from 4pm-10pm, they will split the music up into two sets, starting at 4:30pm and 7:30pm. Guglhupf will be serving up some traditional German street fare, including eats, meats, and treats. And of course the beer will be flowing, from the likes of Spaten, Franziskaner, Gaffel and Duck Rabbit.

Can Release Party @ Triangle Brewing Company - TBC is unveiling their new canning line, and will be sporting some local bands to help celebrate. The line-up includes The Beast, Jason Kutchma, and Pipe - when empty cans are expected to fly. OnlyBurger will be present, along with Hillsborough BBQ. Gates open at 6:30pm. No cover, but bring cash for food and beer.


Gulf Relief Family Fun Day @ Tyler's Taproom - Inspired by the New Orleans-based brewery Abita's launch of their Save our Seashores (SOS) beer, Abita will have a tent set up where SOS merchandise and beer will be available for purchase. 75 cents from each bottle sold and 100% of all merch sales will go to the SOS Charitable Fund. Wool E Bull, local entertainers and a variety of activities will be on hand to entertain the kids, with live music from Jon Wood and Dan Hill. 1-5pm.

Woofstock Experience 2010 @ Durham Central Park - A doggie paradise, Woofstock will feature canine contests and demonstrations, with may different vendors and organizations present. Live music will be provided by The Trosa Band and Andy Coats & The Bank Walkers. 2-5pm
