The Weekend Has Landed - September 10th

Redghost @ Common Ground Theatre - An original adaptation of one of Japan’s best known and most terrifying ghost stories, Yotsuya Kaidan. Revenge, lust, obsession and the fast track to Hell. Presented by Little Green Pig and directed by Rachel Klem. September 9-11, 15-18 at 8pm, September 12 at 2pm. $8-15.

Bull Durham Blues Festival - In its 23rd year running, the Bull Durham Blues Festival will be in some new digs, the Hayti Cultural Center on Friday and the comfy confines of the DPAC on Saturday. With Buddy Guy headlining, there will also be performances by Bettye LaVette, The Wild Magnolias, and Mel Melton & The Wicked Mojos.

Chifferobe Presents: Stars & Stripes, a USO Tribute Show @ Cuban Revolution - Scheduled as a remembrance for the events of 9/11, rekindle your patriotism with a WWII-era USO tribute show. Dress in '40s attire to add to the ambiance, and prepare to be awestruck by the likes of The Minsky Sisters (pictured to the right) and Miss Wednesday. Check out our feature for details. Sat 6pm, $15-20.

Live Music @ Broad Street Cafe - One of my all-time favorite NC bands, Stephaniesid, is bringing their "indie-pop noir" sound to Durham for the first time. Griffanzo will kick the evening off, with the talented Proclivities headlining. Sat 8pm.

Brew-Ha-Ha Vintage Art and Clothing Show @ Fullsteam - From 5-8pm on Sunday, Fullsteam will be hosting a vintage art, handmade jewelry, and fashion show, which will include an encaustic art demontration.

This is the last day of voting for the Great American Food Truck Race, so make sure you toss a few more votes of support behind the OnlyBurger truck in their quest for victory!
