NC Pride Weekend 2011

NC Pride is this weekend, with all kinds of events surrounding it. Here are some highlights:

*Friday*

DURTY QUEER - the pre-PRIDE danceparty @ The Pinhook - A Todes Codes dance party with DJ Smothered & Covered and DJ D&G. Gitter and rainbows abound! 10pm/$5.

MasQUEERade Friday Pride Celebration @ The Bar...Durham - Doors at 4pm, $5-15 cover from 7pm on.

Official Pre-Pride Dance Party @ Casbah - With DJ Nugz and Sean E Boy. Happy Hour from 5-8pm, Dance Party 8pm-2am ($5 cover).

*Saturday*

NC Pride Festival @ Duke East Campus - Check out the schedule, 8am-5pm.

Parade Viewing Party @ 9th Street - 1-4pm.

NC Pride After Party @ The Pinhook - Featuring the Butchies and Pink Flag, the Pinhook will be overflowing into an outdoor parking lot stage. 7pm/$10-15.

Bull City Rumble 2011

This upcoming Labor Day weekend, Durham will play host to North Carolina's largest vintage motorcycle/scooter/cafe racer event.

Organized by Ton Up NC, the Bull City Rumble is two days worth of events - including coordinated rides, a bike show, a swap meet, and a food truck rodeo.

The Rumble will culminate in a rockabilly and burlesque extravaganza at Casbah. The line-up includes:

• Sean K Preston
• Switchblade 85
• Transylvania Transport Company
• Straight 8s
• Tremors

With burlesque performances by:

• Selia d’Katzmeow

• Dolly Dee

• Porcelain

• Cherry Von Bomb

The show starts at 5pm, and is $7 at the door, first come first served. Proceeds will be going to support Preservation Durham.
